Frequently asked.

  • Can a country pay to improve its ranking?

    No. No territory, sponsor or advertiser can influence a score. Every figure derives from published data and the formulas in the Methodology Manual.

  • Can I republish the rankings?

    Journalists may cite the index with attribution to worldresidenceindex.com. For tables, charts or bulk data, contact the licensing desk.

  • I think a figure is wrong.

    Tell us — corrections are welcome. Include the territory, the parameter and your source, and the research team will verify it against the underlying data.

  • When is the next edition?

    The index is rebuilt annually as source data refreshes. Request the report and you will receive the 2027 edition on publication.

  • Do you advise individuals directly?

    The WRI is research, not personal advice. We can point you to the data behind any score, but relocation decisions need professional tax and legal counsel.

  • Is the methodology available in full?

    Yes — the complete Methodology Manual is published on the Methodology page, including every formula, cap and change since 2020.
